[glow=red,2,300] Domestic violence victim's T-shirts displayed [/glow] October 23, 2006 Albany -- October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and the Liberty House shelter for battered women is putting up a display at the Dougherty County court house to show the number of victims in Southwest Georgia. The display will show many of the T-shirts that domestic violence victims make when they enter the Liberty House. Those shirts give the victim's a chance to express their emotions after being abused. The number of shirts and domestic violence victims may shock people. Liberty House Executive Director Silke Deeley said "So that we can show the public how many people have come through the shelter. I think they need to see the T-shirts and understand the emotions that are attached to the women that we serve. " The Liberty House has been at one hundred percent capacity for the last three months. [glow=red,2,300] There have been 48 deaths of domestic violence victims in Georgia so far this year, four in Dougherty County. [/glow] www.walb.com/Global/story.asp?S=5581884&nav=5kZQ
